The Key West Bicentennial: 200 Years of Island Magic

Dig into delicious sea fare at the Conch Revival Picnic from 6 – 9 P.M. on Wednesday, March 23, at the Key West Lighthouse & Keeper’s Quarters (tickets start at $75 each). On Friday, March 25, the Key West Heritage Festival kicks off at 4 P.M. in Mallory Square, where local celebrities and city and Naval officials will take part in a re-enactment of Perry’s flag planting. Later that evening, from 6 – 9 P.M. at the Oldest House Museum and Garden, celebrants will don period attire to attend the Key West Bicentennial Gala, featuring delicious local food, fascinating historical artifacts, and spirited music (tickets are $200 each). On Saturday, March 26, down at Truman Waterfront Park the revelry continues with a day full of family fun, including live musical acts, historic lectures, local artists and artisans selling their unique creations, and, once night has fallen, a spectacular drone firework show. And that’s just a small preview of what’s in store this month as we commemorate the Key West Bicentennial.
